Studio Silva

We love a good bit of stationery at Groom + Guy, and Melbourne based design studio Studio Silva is one of our faves! They specialise in stunning wedding and event stationery, as well as graphic design.

Founded by Jessica Da Silva, Studio Silva creates modern and luxe designs that will bring your wedding to life, before it even begins! They listen carefully to each couple before creating a look that reflects exactly your vision for your wedding stationery including invitation design, ‘on the day’ stationery (menus, place cards, table numbers, signage) and stunning finishes such as foiling, embossing, letterpress and hand lettering.

We popped by to ask the brains behind the operation, Jessica Da Silva, a few specific questions about how she does her incredible wedding stationery!

How do you help couples customise their weddings?

“It’s really important for me to gather as much information as possible, from the flowers that are in season to any inspiration they may have collected. This really helps me to visualise the day as a whole and I can then provide suggestions accordingly as all of my work is custom designed to suit the couples needs and wants.”

What makes your stationery unique?

“I believe that my graphic design skills have allowed me to apply that knowledge to create stationery that is not only ‘well designed’ but uncomplicated. Couples approach me because they love that my modern designs aren’t fussy but always looks luxe without being over the top. I love finding that balance between elegant and refined stationery with a twist to make it unique and tailored to the couple.”

What inspired you to start your business?

“I have always been a creative person and coming from a graphic design background, I naturally evolved into wedding stationery as quite a few friends were getting married. I really enjoyed it and got more and more opportunities to design wedding stationery… and it just stuck!”

Where do you get your inspiration from? Are there any particular trends in stationary that are popular with your clients at the moment? What trends do you see being popular this coming wedding season?

“I love social media tools like Instagram and Pinterest to gather inspiration. I’m seeing a refreshing shift away from marble and more towards minimal and refined styles, as well as deep colours such as burgundy and emerald paired with soft tones like blush and nude. Florals have always been quite popular but I’m seeing them become bolder and brighter, rather than watercolour and pastel.”

So what are you waiting for? Let Jessica and the team at Studio Siva help bring your wedding to life, even before it begins!
