The paths of Lego and Star Wars lovers Chris + Ben crossed many times over the years, before a brief online flirtation led them to give it a go on a real live date. Bonding over their shared loves, it wasn’t too long before a ring was hidden in a box of Lego, and they were engaged to be married!

The wedding took place on Friday the 23rd of September, 2016 and both of the grooms wore suits by Brent Wilson, with shoes by Tom Ford and Common Projects and accessories by Alexander McQueen. They also made the wedding a more colourful by subtly incorporating pieces of Lego into their lapel flowers, table centrepieces and photoshoot.

The ceremony took place at the British Consulate at Circular Quay in Sydney, and was officiated by Elizabeth Sandor. Chris + Ben were married in front of 40 close family and friends, before they jumped in an Uber to celebrate at a reception designed entirely by the couple at the Archie Rose Distillery in Rosebery.

Throughout the fun-filled night, guests enjoyed assorted savoury finger food, delicious pastries and baked goods and drank from a personally curated cocktail list designed around the local vodka and gin produce. Maren Sims, mother of the groom, provided the flowers. To top it all off the guests enjoyed a three-tiered strawberry and watermelon cake from Black Star Bakery and take-home gifts of personalised engraved Lego key rings!

We really feel that the images captured by Darren Wigley of Mr. Wigley do this incredible couple and their creative ideas justice, so we’ll let them speak for themselves!
