Well, where do we even begin to describe 2016?! It was the year that saw all of our hard work and dedication come to fruition with the launch-in-print release of Volume 1 of Groom + Guy, Australia and New Zealand’s first and only gay wedding magazine.
There were 12,011 words written, 210 pages created, 8 real weddings shared, 4 editorials shot and 1 very exhausted iMac at the end of it but on the 2nd of June 2016, Volume 1 of Groom + Guy went on sale in over 1900 stockists in Australia and New Zealand. We cannot thank everyone who purchased a copy enough, whether it be for themselves, their friends or both. Without you, we wouldn’t be here and we are so grateful that you joined us on this amazing journey.
As we farewell 2016, we also welcome 2017, which is going to be a big year for Groom + Guy and hopefully for the nation as a whole as well. We hope and dream that in 2017 marriage equality can move from something we campaign for, to something we enjoy. We wish for the change that will allow us to finally start seeing couples getting married in the eyes of the law in Australia. No matter what though, we promise we will continue to celebrate the union of and love between a man and a man in the way only Groom + Guy can!
If you missed out on Groom + Guy Volume 1, you can purchase it online from our website (and it’s actually on sale in our Boxing Day sale right now!) to enjoy while our exciting new changes for 2017 are in the works. 2017 will be jam packed with features on wedded bliss including more amazing real weddings and collaborations with Chyka Keebaugh, Brent Wallace, Immy + Indi, Viktoria Novak, Bloom Boy, Cakes by Cliff and more!
From all of us at Groom + Guy, we wish you have a very Happy New Year and may 2017 be your best year yet.
Love Matty + Rach
